Students beginning to think about moving off-campus are encouraged to view Renter 101 to learn about key considerations as they start the search process.

Need a roommate? Students can register here to create a profile and search for a roommate.

Students who plan to live off-campus are encouraged to self-enroll in the self-paced Student Tenant Education Program (STEP). This course is designed to provide students with fundamental resources and knowledge about living off-campus. Students will learn about living off-campus responsibly, maintaining their property, understanding the legal implications of leases, developing good relationships with permanent residents, and becoming part of the community around campus. Many landlords offer incentives to students who complete STEP. Students can share their unique badge indicating their successful completion of STEP with their landlord or property manager. Only current St. Thomas students can self-enroll in the STEP course.
